Adam Dempsey celebrates five years this week at Deluxe Mastering… and it coincides with ongoing momentum for vinyl releases being as strong as ever, with at least six projects in as many weeks all destined for vinyl including: Heirs, Plastic Palace Alice, Trappist Afterland, The Velocettes, Raoul McLay, and Pre Unit.
Vinyl LP & EP releases are obviously suiting a dedicated market and for promo purposes.
How to optimize results for your vinyl release and minimize any technical headaches/delays?
Basically for a little extra outlay at a mastering session for CD or digital release you can also leave with full res 24 bit Side A & B files, tweaked as needed (a separate pass), suitable for sending to lacquer cutting – sonically this can be much better than merely sending off a CD or 16 bit files and hoping for the best! See our vinyl page for more info.
Of course we can also give you 24 bit full res CD mastered files – a great insurance for future formats and for current FLAC (lossless) options (Bandcamp, etc).
Meanwhile Jack’s been working on the first of several upcoming podcasts with audio engineer Sam Hannan and producer Steve James – more to come!
